4/7/24 Merino Park (Part 2)

Today's cleanup was a blustery one! We really were unprepared for the wind and chill today, but still managed to make a great dent in litter at Merino Park. With 21 volunteers, we managed to collect over 650 lbs. An engineer from the WRWC stopped by and thanked us for our work - it's always great to connect with our peers in the field. We love the work they do as well!

We had a group of new folks today, and they were such troopers for putting up with the chill. We hope to be able to come back to Merino Park in the summer, when it's a little warmer. We know warmer weather is right around the corner, but with that comes the undergrowth, which keeps us out of some spots. It also brings back ticks and mosquitos, which we're not a big fan of!

Litter collected: 667 lbs

Volunteers: 21 (2 hours of cleanup each)
