It's finally starting to feel like Spring! Today's cleanup was great. We partnered with Councilwoman Shelley Peterson for a well-attended and thorough cleanup of Corliss Park, and some of the surrounding neighborhoods. There were also folks from other organizations doing landscaping, and a large contingency from the Parks Department assisting. It's incredible what a small group of volunteers can do, but even more incredible what a huge number of folks can do!
We estimate that we were able to collect 460 lbs, if not more, from the park and surrounding neighborhoods. We are already scheduling another event in May to be back in the Wanskuck neighborhood.
We thank Councilwoman Peterson for her dedication to her constitutes, and for coordinating a successful cleanup with us!
